Fish Hoek beach is well known as one of the safest swimming beaches in the Cape with shark nets to boot. That is one of the reasons it has become increasingly popular for families.
The bay at Fish Hoek beach offers great swimming facilities and the warm Indian Ocean makes the waters even more inviting. It is also a great beach if you’re just starting to surf or would like to gain confidence in the water by body boarding or body surfing with gentle waves and a fabulous environment.
There are walks along the shoreline towards Kalk Bay and also the other way along Jaggeres Walk for a dip in the rock pools and tidal pools nearby. During whale season there are often mother and baby pairs splashing about. Surfers, sailboats and kayaks are regularly spotted and the beachfront shops offer a snack and main menu and a beach perfect ice cream cone to enjoy in the sunshine.
